Budapest is an amazing city. Probably one of the most interesting I have visited in Europe so far. While there are plenty of sights to explore within the actual city limits, something that I would recommend everybody who goes to Budapest is visiting Jánoshegy. Jánoshegy (or Johannesberg in German) lies in close proximity to Budapest and - with 528m - is the tallest of the Buda hills.
To get there, simply take the N 291 Busz from "Nyugati pályaudvar M" to the last stop of "Zugligeti Libegő". From there, there is a chairlift available, but I would recommend the walk, as it is not even a hike, more like a walk.
And a nice walk it is....
...offering stunning views of the surroundings.
On top of the Janoshegy is the Elizabeth tower (Erzsébet-kilátó), a nice landmark from where there are superb views of Budapest.
For the desperate, there is also the option to buy food and drinks in the tower, although a bit pricy.
