浅草での三社祭・Sanja Matsuri in Asakusa

The second year in series, I went to the Sanja Matsuri 三社祭, one of the biggest Shinto festivals in Japan. The festival is held in the present of three portable shrines ("mikoshi") in Asakusa 浅草, Tokyo 東京, hence the name Sanja 三社 ("three shrines") Festival. According to Wikipedia, the festival is considered as one of the wildest in Japan and attracts a crowd of at least 1.5 million people each year. While I don't know if these facts are right, the festival itself is indeed worth a visit.
