I first visited this small peaceful island in Kanagawa Prefecture last year, but wanted to come back ever since. This weekend, I finally had the chance to go there again. Access to the island is very easy, only a bit more than an hour from Shinjuku station 新宿駅. Besides a huge shrine at the end of the main road and two caves that host two other shrines, one of the most magnificient attractions is the Samuel Cocking Garden. The landscape garden was built for about 3 million Yen and includes a huge tower with a viewing platform on the top. If the weather is good, one can view along the coastline of Kanagawa Prefecture 神奈川県, while watching surfers and sailors floating by.
