Narita airport security

When I exited Japan at Narita Airport (Tokyo area) the last time, I noticed something really annoying. Maybe because they fear a lot of terrorist attacks (I really don`t get it why Japan should be the target of terrorists, at least they have not that bad image in the world, well maybe in Asia that is) security controls are everywhere.

I only had to change planes once but I went through four security controls during the whole trip. The first one was right at the station. IN order to enter the airport, one has to show all his belongings to the security guards. I mean, hey, thats good for being hyper secure but is it really necessary? Before boarding the flight the passangers are x-rayed anyway.

So I was goint to take some pictures, see below.

When I arrived at what I believed was the controls, I took out my mobile and took a shot of this ridiculosity.

Then, of course, a guard came to me saying that this is not allowed. Fortunately, she didn't took my camera away. She might have thought this would be some instrument used by a German terrorist in Japan.

Sigh, anyway... after i passed I just took another photo of that station. And I am pretty sure that there was no such extra checkpoint one year ago.

Flying really becomes a pain in the ass. :(
