Socializing platforms proved that they are really famous. Almost everybody I know is registered in the most succesful German platorm called StudiVZ. A few months ago, they also started a socializing platform not only for students but for schoolkids as well. In order to promote this site they seem to spray their logos all other in front of public schools in Germany. Annoying :/
